This is a result of the need to use coal and coke in blast furnaces to generate enough heat to elicit the proper environment for complex chemical reactions. Our biocarbon is engineered to be a direct replacement for coal and petcoke in both blast furnaces and electric arc furnaces. By using biocarbon instead of petcoke, our customers can reduce their emissions by three or more tons of CO2e per ton of petcoke replaced.
